The traditional Bortulja festival is celebrated in Sveti Bartul. It includes a traditional tournament in Briškula and Trešeta, two regional card games. According to tradition, Bortulja-Marenda is prepared according to old customs. Bortulja also featured performances by young musicians playing Istrian instruments.

The Church of Saint Bartholomew in Sveti Bartul was built in 1561. A statue of its patron saint stands on a well-preserved altar. Behind the church, a spring is covered by a domed structure.

Trails and Landscape

The Krapan–Sv. Bartul Mining Trail is described as an easy route measuring 1.7 kilometres. In addition, a separate connecting trail named “Spoj Sv Bartul”, also described as easy, is designated and measures 1.2 kilometres.

The mining trails around Sveti Bartul are associated with views of the surrounding hills, a mild Mediterranean climate, and a mixture of older and contemporary mining landscapes.

Hiking

The Presika–Labin–Church of Saint Barbara hike is 15.39 kilometres long and rated as moderate. Sveti Bartul is a stop on this hike at kilometre 9.2.

Cycling

The Bortulja cycling route is approximately 11 kilometres long and starts and ends in Sveti Bartol. The Bortulja cycling activity is intended for all age groups, including children accompanied by their parents.

Cuisine

The traditional “marenda pod urehom” in Sveti Bartul is named after a walnut tree in the centre of the village. A Bortulja-Marenda menu included prosciutto, cheese, tripe, octopus salad, sauerkraut with ombolo and sausages, as well as ćevapčići.
