Barbići: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Barbići is home to the Chapel of St. Augustine, built in 1720 on the site of an earlier church. Inside, there is a masonry altar and a wooden statue of St. Augustine. Anyone choosing Barbići as a travel destination may wish to rent a holiday apartment there.

Culture

A Roman inscription is built into the rear wall of the Church of St. Augustine. The building has a rectangular floor plan, a square apse and a semicircular vault. The main entrance consists of massive stone monoliths with a flat horizontal lintel. The front façade features a narrow vertical window framed by stone beams; a bell gable stands at its top.

The Church of St. Augustine is located approximately 100 metres northwest of the northern edge of Barbići. A possible archaeological site is also located near the Chapel of St. Augustine.

Cycling

The Labin–Raša cycle path comprises 10.5 kilometres of asphalt and 6.5 kilometres of gravel. It reaches Barbići, from where a fire road leads down to Raša.

The official Liburnia cycling route is 71 kilometres long, starts and ends in Raša, and passes through Barbići before completing its circuit. Rated as challenging, the route comprises 36 kilometres of asphalt and 35 kilometres of gravel. After Barbići, the route can lead back to the Liburna Nature Reserve via the fire road.
