Landscape
The cadastral municipality of Motovunski Novaki lies at the meeting point of red and grey Istria, on the border between flysch and karst limestone. The Krvar watercourse extends through the areas of Karojba and Motovunski Novaki and forms part of the Mirna catchment area; it runs outside the built-up area.
The Čiže watercourse is a phenomenon of a sinking river. It is formed by several streams and tributaries that originate in Kašćerga and flow towards Novaki Motovunski.
Culture and History
The parish church of St Marina in Novaki Motovunski was built in 1879 on the site of an older 16th-century church. Only the portal of the former palace of the Polesini family has survived; it is located opposite the parish church.
The Church of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary near Novaki was built in 1683. The Church of St Rocco dates from the 14th century and was restored in 1933. It contains an altar with a wooden retable and a statue of St Rocco.
Trails
Put Istarskog razvoda is a themed walking trail with information panels in four languages. It begins at the Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes, built in 1898.

OPG Koraca is located in Motovunski Novaki at an altitude of 425 metres above sea level. Traditional grapevines and olive trees are cultivated there. Under the brand “The spirit of wine”, OPG Koraca produces spirits and liqueurs using traditional methods.
