A longer cycling route in the Buzet area passes through Baredine. From Baredine, the Roč–Buzet loop continues via Zrenj and Mali Mlun along the Bračana River.

The official cycling route 508 is a 26-kilometre loop from Buzet and Sveti Ivan via Kotli, Roč and Gornja Nugla back to Buzet. It comprises 11 kilometres of asphalt and 15 kilometres of macadam, has an elevation difference of 700 metres and an estimated cycling time of 1:45 hours.

Cycling routes along the Mirna Valley begin in the Buzet area. The Seven Waterfalls hiking trail, an adventure park and designated tourist trails are also nearby.

Culture and History

In the immediate vicinity of Baredine, Roč has been an important centre of Glagolitic literary activity since the 13th century. The Mala glagoljska akademija takes place there every year, where students learn about the Glagolitic script and Glagolitic heritage.

In the immediate vicinity of Baredine, Roč preserves sections of its walls and towers, as well as churches. The town was also associated with the traditional gathering “Z armoniku v Roč”, which took place on the second Sunday in May.

In Buzet, the local museum houses archaeological, ethnographic and historical collections. These include copies of medieval frescoes and casts of Glagolitic inscriptions; recurring cultural and motorsport events are also held in the town.

In the immediate vicinity of Baredine, Buzet preserves town walls and two town gates dating from the town’s historical development during the Venetian period.
