Culture and History
The Chapel of Saint Mary Magdalene stands on Zašat, east of the centre of Krapinske Toplice. It was built in 1874 on the site of an earlier wooden chapel. The octagonal Chapel of Saint Nicholas was built in the first half of the 19th century and extensively restored in 2007.
The Holy Trinity Parish Church was built between 1829 and 1832. Its organs were built in 1860 by Leonard Ebner from Maribor and follow the Czech-German Romantic tradition of organ building.
Archaeological finds on Zašat indicate a prehistoric hilltop settlement provisionally dated to the Late Bronze Age, around 1200 to 800 BC. Zašat Park Forest extends to the Chapel of Saint Mary Magdalene and was part of the spatial composition of the spa complex.
