Dimitrovgrad has been part of the Council of Europe's 27th Cultural Route since April 2014. Third March Boulevard, the square and the surrounding buildings form an architectural ensemble that reflects the style of its era and is of interest to cultural tourism.

The Petko Churchuliev Art Gallery preserves more than 2,250 works by nearly 400 artists in the fields of painting, graphic art, sculpture, contemporary art and theatre posters. It also presents temporary exhibitions and hosts cultural events. St Dimitar Church is the oldest building in Dimitrovgrad and dates from 1884.

In the city centre, the Historical Museum–Dimitrovgrad is located in a complex with the House of Technology and the Penyo Penov City Library. The Dimitrovgrad Days of Poetry take place every two years at the beginning of May; during these celebrations, the Penyo Penov National Literary Award is presented.

Near Kasnakovo in the municipality of Dimitrovgrad lies the Sanctuary of the Nymphs and Aphrodite. It dates from the 2nd to the 4th century and was part of a Roman country estate. The sanctuary is a cultural monument of national importance. It has a paved access road, a tourist information centre, parking spaces and rest areas.

Nature and Parks

Maritsa Park lies on the right bank of the Maritsa between the city centre and the river embankment and covers 1,400 decares. Three ancient oak trees in Maritsa Park were designated as protected old and notable trees in 2013. The park also houses an International Cynological Centre, where pet exhibitions are held.

Vaptsarov Park is home to a zoo with bears, deer and various birds. There is a children's playground beside its main avenue. Wide forest paths lead through the park to the Giordano Bruno Planetarium. Public access to the Giordano Bruno Observatory is free of charge.
