Louveigné combines hiking trails with tangible traces of local history. A description of the Sprimont P13, updated on 30 April 2026, leads through wooded areas and cultivated fields on the way to Louveigné; in the village, the route includes Saint Remacle Church and the “Tilleul de la justice”. The Tour de Dîme and Troleu offer further historical points of interest: a stone at the entrance portal of the Tour de Dîme bears the date 1642, while the Chapelle N.D. de Bon Secours in Troleu dates from 1708. Louveigné thus offers several themes to consider when planning your trip—from spending time outdoors on hiking trails to noticing specific historical details.

Hiking between landscapes and cultural landmarks

On the P13, your attention shifts between landscapes and cultural landmarks. On the way to Louveigné, the trail passes through wooded areas and cultivated fields; in Louveigné itself, it includes Saint Remacle Church as a heritage stop. The lime tree known as the “Tilleul de la justice” is also part of the P13. This means the route can be described not only by its wooded and agricultural sections: the church and lime tree give it distinct cultural landmarks. If you are planning with children, you can turn this variety into a shared question when planning the day: should the outing be shaped more by the landscape or by stops in the village?

The Sprimont P01 offers a different focus: views of the Hés de Louveigné-Stinval. By comparison, the P13 combines wooded and cultivated sections on the way to Louveigné with cultural landmarks in the village. This makes your choice of route more specific: are you more interested in views of the Hés or in a hike with the church and lime tree as named stops? Check trail conditions before setting out on the P01.

Historical details and their dates

A stone at the entrance portal of the Tour de Dîme bears the date 1642. The same portal features the coats of arms of the state to which Louveigné belonged: the Princely Abbey of Stavelot. The date associated with the Chapelle N.D. de Bon Secours in Troleu is different: it dates from 1708. The chapel is located in a site placed under protection in 1963, flanked by two venerable lime trees. The dates refer to different things: 1642 appears on the portal stone, 1708 marks the chapel’s construction, and 1963 the protection of the site. This makes it possible to distinguish the date of construction from the protection status.
