The Driekoningenpad covers 4.7 kilometres and passes, among other places, Kasteel d'Aertrycke and Wijnendaledreef. These two routes allow you to base your travel planning on a specific distance without limiting your stay to just one means of transport.

The Torhout running trail system offers signposted routes of 5 or 10 kilometres, with starting points in Groenhovebos or on Weserstraat in Torhout-Oost. Mountain biking enthusiasts can consider the 31-kilometre green Karel Van Wijnendale route, part of Route De Vlaamsche Leeuwen. It starts at the Benny Vansteelant sports centre in Torhout. The 22-kilometre, car-free Groene 62 is intended for walking and cycling and connects Ostend with Torhout.

Torhout is the historic centre of an exceptional pottery tradition. The Museum Torhouts Aardewerk reconstructs the history of pottery using selected examples from various stylistic periods and production centres. It is housed in a small castle surrounded by a moat, which has been owned by the city since 1989. This adds a cultural perspective closely connected to Torhout's identity to a walk or excursion.
