Domniki is home to a mass grave from the Second World War dating from 1941 to 1944. It is recognised as a historical and cultural value in Belarus and bears the identification number 213Д000662.

From 19 to 23 October 1942, German forces burned down 61 residential buildings in Domniki, together with all outbuildings, two schools, a village shop and buildings belonging to the collective farm. In Domniki, German forces shot ten people and burned two people.

Domniki's historic Trinity Church is documented; a record concerning the history of the church dates from 1877.

Nature

The Sosnitsa River flows through Domniki and rises in Lake Sosno, also known as Lake Leshno. The hills of Gora Ostrov and Gora Krugliki are located near Domniki. Further afield in the region are the islands of Ostrov Konskiy and Ostrov Velikiy.

Geographical Location

From an iron bridge on the Sosnitsa, Domniki is estimated to be 3.5 km away on foot, or approximately 7 km by river. There are many bridges along this section of the Sosnitsa; most are severely damaged and overgrown, requiring portaging or lining.
