The Dikoye lowland marsh and protected area is located in the Pruzhany District and the Svislach District of the Grodno Region, in the catchment areas of the Yaselda and Narew rivers. Many rare animal and plant species live there. The Dikoye protected area is part of Bialowieza Forest National Park and has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

History

German occupiers burned Silichi to the ground and killed its inhabitants. On 12 December 1944, Act No. 5 concerning the burning of Silichi and the killing of its inhabitants was drawn up in Pruzhany.

Silichi is included in the list of the 17 villages in Pruzhany District that were burned down by German occupiers. Villages in Pruzhany District were burned down in 1942. In addition, Silichi was one of the seven villages in Pruzhany District against which a punitive operation was carried out on 17 June 1942. During this punitive operation, women and children were left without shelter or food.
