Masyr: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The historical centre, Mazyr Castle, opened as a museum in 2005. Its exhibition covers the entire landscape zone with its architectural and planned development. The guided tour "Journey through Medieval Mazyr" presents the history of the city from its first mention in the chronicles to the beginning of the 20th century. The three towers of Mazyr Castle house exhibitions on weapons, hunting and administration.

Culture

The Mazyr Exhibition Hall offers guided tours for visitors, lectures, discussions and cultural events. The V. A. Mineyko Gallery there displays more than 40 paintings by the artist from the collections of the Mazyr United Local Lore Museum. The Mazyr Exhibition Hall also hosts the annual "Farby Palesya" exhibition, featuring works by artists from the Mazyr region.

The Mazyr Local History Museum invites visitors to its departments dedicated to nature, archaeology and the military remembrance of internationalist soldiers. The nature department is divided into the topics of the region's geology, flora and fauna, as well as ecology and environmental protection. The archaeology department covers the development of human society from the first settlement of the Polesie area to the incorporation of Mazyr as part of the Belarusian territories into the Russian Empire in 1793.

The Mazyr United Local Lore Museum preserves and presents the region's tangible and intangible, cultural and natural heritage. The Paleskaya Veda Museum opened in 1999 as a cultural and scientific research centre of the region and introduces visitors to the spiritual and material culture of Mazyr Polesie. The main exhibition reconstructs the interior of a 19th-century Polesie peasant house.

The Nikolai Pushkar Museum-Workshop is located in the house that served as the artist's workshop for many years and is based on an extensive collection of his works. In addition to guided tours, it offers a range of ceramics courses and lectures; in workshops, visitors can create a ceramic work themselves.

The Roman Catholic Church of Saint Michael is the oldest surviving church in Mazyr and was built in 1744 as part of a Cistercian monastery. It is an active church where Mass is regularly celebrated in Belarusian and Polish. The Kurgan of Glory memorial complex was built in Mazyr in 1967; its opening was dedicated to the 23rd anniversary of the city's liberation from Nazi occupation.

River and Paths

The riverside promenade along the Pripyat on Sovetskaya Street serves as Mazyr's main urban strolling area. It features a two-level pedestrian facility, benches overlooking the river, and paths for walking, jogging and cycling. The riverside promenade is accessible to visitors; benches are available on site, and the nearest public transport stop is Primostovaya Square.

Cuisine

Tri Peskarya Café is located in Pobeda Culture and Recreation Park, right on the bank of the Pripyat River, giving it a riverside setting. It serves dishes related to Belarusian culinary traditions, including puréed soups, draniki with various fillings and grilled meat dishes.
