Ogorodniki: Apartments and Holiday Homes
A memorial in Ogorodniki commemorates 20 Jewish victims. The massacre documented at the memorial in Ogorodniki took place in December 1941. Also in December 1941, 30 Jews, mostly women and children, were abducted by police officers in Ogorodniki and shot outside the village. The execution site was located on the road to the village of Kryshychi.
History
The first written references to Jurowitschi date back to 1510. The icon of Jurowitschi was first mentioned in historical chronicles in 1630.
Culture
The monastery of Jurowitschi welcomes groups of pilgrims and individual pilgrims. Guided tours are offered to groups of pilgrims there. The monastery church of Jurowitschi is a late Baroque architectural monument.
The monastery complex of Jurowitschi has been included in the “Golden Ring of the Homel Region” and is currently being restored. An excursion programme in Jurowitschi includes a walk to the Prypjat River.
