Adrasan, also called Çavuşköy, is a protected natural harbour on the Lycian maritime route. The bay combines a 2.5 km stretch of coastline, consisting mostly of sandy and pebbly beach, with the forested mountains surrounding it. Coast, water and mountain scenery give the place different emphases: you can focus on beach and water activities or give greater weight to hiking and traces of history.

Coast, Mountains and Water

If you are travelling with your family, you can decide together whether your trip should be shaped more by time spent by the water or by excursions and discoveries. These different options make Adrasan interesting for planning a varied holiday, without requiring beach time and hiking to be combined into a single itinerary.

The maritime side is also part of the local character. The area around Adrasan is considered one of Antalya’s important sailing and yachting harbours. During the summer months, daily boat trips are offered in Adrasan along Antalya’s mountainous coastal region. Fishing boats gather in Balıkçılar Bay and organise private excursions. These boat trips offer a separate way to experience the coastal region from the water.

The waters of Adrasan are popular with swimmers and snorkellers. In clear weather, visibility can reach up to 25 m. So, alongside the beach, those interested in swimming or snorkelling can also enjoy a special view beneath the water’s surface. The visibility figure applies only when the weather is clear.

Hiking Around Adrasan

The Lycian Way descends to the settlement of Adrasan along a forest trail. After crossing Adrasan Beach, the route climbs uphill through the streambed towards the settlement of Olympos. These described sections of the route differ in character: one descends along a forest trail, while the other climbs uphill through a streambed after crossing the beach. If you would like to include hiking in your trip, you can consider in advance which kind of route interests you.

The Adrasan–Sazak Bay route is also one of the hiking routes in Beydağları Coastal National Park. It offers another named hiking option alongside the Lycian Way. The settlement of Adrasan is also a useful point of reference for supplies along the way: on this map sheet, it is the only place where food, water and other necessities can be obtained. If you are planning hikes, you can take this information into account when preparing.

Traces of History Around the Bay

A watchtower stands on Kızkalesi Tepesi, north of Adrasan Bay. The hill also contains defensive structures from various periods. The watchtower commands a full view of the bay and was also used during the Ottoman period. West of the bay, a castle stands on a hill, with remains of late-period walls and buildings. Alongside the coast and mountains, these places give the landscape a historical character.

Choose the Right Focus for Your Holiday

When looking for a holiday apartment in Adrasan, you can first consider what you want your trip to revolve around: the coast and water, hiking trails or historical discoveries. This question can help you find a holiday rhythm that suits you, especially if you are travelling as a family and need to balance different preferences. One stay might focus on boat trips and the beach, while another might centre more on the trails and the history around the bay.
