A trip to Kargicak brings together a range of interests: getting active along the coast, places for families to play and be active, and archaeological themes in the wider region. This may influence your choice of holiday apartment: would you like to focus on activity by the sea, a place for play breaks or a cultural perspective?

Coastal routes on foot and by bike

The completed 21-kilometre coastal stretch between the Atatürk Monument and Kargicak can be travelled along continuously on foot or by bicycle. This gives you a concrete reference point for planning your vacation if you would like to include a longer period of activity by the sea. Check the condition of the route before setting out.

The coastal promenade between Dinek and Kargicak offers a walking path with shaded seating areas. In contrast to the 21-kilometre stretch, the focus here is on walks and breaks in shaded seating areas; cycling is also mentioned for the longer coastal stretch. This can help you decide whether a longer route or a walking path with places to sit is more important to you.

There is also a project reference for the Kestel–Mahmutlar–Kargicak section for cycling. In June 2021, work began on applying blue markings there as part of an approximately 30-kilometre bicycle path project. The markings were intended to separate the bicycle path from the pedestrian path. If your choice of route depends on cycling, it may be useful to check the current status in advance.

Play and activity areas for different kinds of day

The children's park on Makinistler Sokak was in operation in 2018 on a 1,310-square-metre green space. In 2018, it had children's play equipment, outdoor exercise equipment, a tennis court and seating areas. The listed facilities bring play, activity and seating together in one place. For families, this offers a different focus for the day than a longer coastal tour.

A municipal record from 2014 notes another play area with play equipment in a recreational area on the coastal stretch beside Kargicak cemetery. This place is therefore described as a play area within a recreational area on the coastal stretch; by contrast, the children's park on Makinistler Sokak focuses on the green space and its play, activity and tennis facilities. If you would rather find individual places to stop than take a longer route during your vacation day, this difference offers a concrete point of reference.

The park on Hakimler Sokak was still under construction in 2017. The park, which was under construction at the time, was planned to include play equipment for children aged zero to six and climbing structures. Pergolas, seating areas, swings, table tennis, exercise equipment and a basketball court with three hoops were also planned for the park.

A beach with a clear designation

The private facility beach at the UW Hotels complex, which has been awarded the Blue Flag, is 100 metres long and 25 metres wide. It is 150 metres from the complex and connected to it by a bridge. The beach is a guest facility of this complex, not a public beach. If beach access influences your choice, check it for the specific accommodation: the stated measurements and bridge connection apply to the UW Hotels complex.

Archaeological traces in the wider region

The archaeological traces are in the wider regional area of the ancient city of Syedra. Rooms and other remains of an olive press were identified southeast of Syedra. The area in question, within the boundaries of Seki, Kargicak and İspatlı, was registered as a first-degree archaeological site by a 2015 decision. Roman wall remains were identified north of the Syedra Archaeological Conservation Area; the areas mentioned are also within the boundaries of Seki, Kargicak and İspatlı. The finds range from remains of an olive press to Roman walls, complementing the coastal and play themes with a regional cultural focus.
