In the centre of the village of Argavand stands Saint Sarkis Church. According to the inscription above its northern entrance, it was completed on 19 August 1897; it was built through donations from Armenian believers.

The building is made of grey tuff and has three naves, with a northern and a western entrance. It was reconstructed in 1997; the bell tower was built through the efforts and financial contributions of local residents.

The settlement of Shengavit is located near Argavand; T’eyshebaini is also close to Argavand. The surrounding area of Argavand is also home to the Komitas Museum-Institute and the Armenian Railways Museum.
