Yangpyeong offers a range of themes to consider when planning a trip: riversides and park trails, wildflowers, forest activities, art and market life. Across the wider travel region, you can give different weight to nature and culture; the local area also has its own places and activities. This makes it easy to choose a holiday rental based on the experiences that interest you most.

Riversides, Park Trails and an April Festival

Galsan Park lies on the banks of the Namhangang River. A riverside path lined with willows is a defining feature of the grounds, whose seasonal appearance may vary. The Yangpyeong Mulsori-gil, Section 4, and a bicycle path also run through the park. This gives you a choice of different types of routes when planning your visit, without implying a particular walking time or level of difficulty.

April brings a distinctive seasonal highlight: the park is known for its cherry blossoms that month. The Nuri-bom Festival is also held every year in April in the Galsan Park area. Dates and programmes may change, so it is worth checking the latest festival dates before your trip. The park is lit with coloured lights at night; the lighting design may change over time.

Forest Activities and Wildflowers

Sweeja Park combines forest culture and recreation with accommodation, healing activities, experiences and education. Its facilities include a forest education centre and a children's forest experience area. The forest exploration trail is 2.3 kilometres long. Programmes and individual facilities may change; if you have a particular activity in mind, check the latest information in advance.

The Yangpyeong Wild Flower Arboretum also offers several nature-focused attractions. The Nature Learning Center has around 200 different species of endangered wildflowers, and the herb garden features 50 different herb species. The arboretum also includes a wetland, Tteodeureongseom Island, a riverside access point and a research centre. A tropical arboretum adds to the selection. Hands-on programmes provide another way to engage with the site; their availability may change. The Nature Ecology Museum features a nature ecology model and educational videos.

Yanggang Island has a Mugunghwa garden and a bicycle traffic safety learning centre. Along with the forest and garden attractions, this offers a range of options where you can give different weight to nature observation, learning and trails, depending on your interests.

Art, Educational Activities and Market Life

The Yangpyeong County Art Museum offers seasonal exhibitions in spring, summer, autumn and winter, as well as special exhibitions and outdoor art shows. Themes and programme dates may change. The programme also includes creative educational activities related to the exhibitions, cultural events and the Byeolbyeol Art Market. Sculptures and other media artworks are displayed outdoors; the area also serves as an open-air event venue.

The museum's spaces are also designed for education and exchange: on the basement level, three education rooms host visitor programmes that encourage creativity. On the third floor, a seminar room is used for academic, educational and cultural programmes, including lectures, forums, seminars and various cultural events. These offerings give art enthusiasts more than one exhibition focus, while the seasonal programme also connects the museum with different times of year.

In Yangpyeong's local area, Yangpyeong Water-Clear Traditional Market offers a glimpse of regional produce. Items for sale include seasonal vegetables and fruit from Yangpyeong, as well as wild herbs gathered in Yongmun. The market has about 400 permanent shops. On five-day market days, around 200 temporary stalls are added; these figures may change.

When choosing a holiday rental in Yangpyeong, it helps to first decide which experiences you want to prioritise: riverside trails and cherry blossoms offer a different focus from wildflowers, forest activities, the museum and the market. If you are considering accommodation in Sweeja Park, overnight stays are available at Chogawon and the House of Healing; check their current availability before making plans.
