A trip to Piedade can be planned around seasonal experiences, distinctive natural landmarks, and cultural sites. These different themes offer a range of starting points for planning: an annual blossom period, a seasonal persimmon harvest, or nature and cultural experiences associated with specific places and stretches of road.

Cherry Blossoms and Persimmon Harvests as Seasonal Experiences

In the municipality of Piedade, the cherry trees along Avenida Marginal bloom every year between late June and early July. If you want to make the blossoms the focus of your trip, this period provides a clear guide for choosing your dates.

Another seasonal highlight is Colha & Pague do Kaki Fuyu. One edition was part of Piedade’s local tourism calendar and took place at Sítio Sakaguti in Bairro Sarapuí de Cima. At this event, visitors could pick persimmons directly from the orchard. The experience is seasonal; program details may change. Unlike the annual cherry blossoms, the specific harvest event is therefore the key reference point: check the dates and program information for the relevant edition when planning your trip.

Natural Landmarks from Pedra do Elefante to Jurupará

Pedra do Elefante is one of Piedade’s best-known natural landmarks. Its shape resembles an elephant. It is located on SP-250, along the stretch between Piedade and Pilar do Sul, near Bairro Liberdade. Its name thus describes an easily recognizable landscape feature, distinct from the region’s broader natural attractions.

Also along the stretch between Piedade and Pilar do Sul, at kilometer 101 of Rodovia SP-250 in Bairro Liberdade, Jardim Oriental is part of an integrated tourist complex near Clube Kai-Kan. In addition to the garden, the complex includes a torii, Pedra do Elefante, and Clube Kai-Kan. This stretch of road therefore brings together a natural landmark and a complex featuring a garden and torii, offering distinct themes to consider when planning your trip.

The Parque Estadual do Jurupará, established in 1992, offers a different scale of experience. The protected area covers approximately 26,000 hectares and lies between the municipalities of Piedade and Ibiúna. A total of 107 bird species have been recorded there, representing 50 percent of the endemic bird species of the Atlantic Forest. Ecotourism activities such as cycling and hiking also take place in the park. Bird diversity and active outdoor experiences offer two different ways to explore the protected area.

The Circuito Caloi GP Ravelli is another sports-related attraction associated with Piedade. Its route runs along unpaved roads, nature trails, private property, and paved roads. Since route details may change and the route also crosses private property, check the current route and access options before making specific plans.

Cultural Sites and Orientation

Parque Ecológico “Collemar de Miranda Botto” in Vila Nova Olinda hosts various cultural and socio-environmental activities. Projects such as the children’s programs Parque Eco Mais and Férias no Parque have also taken place there. The two project names offer a specific glimpse of the range of activities held at the park, but should not be taken as confirmation that they are currently part of the program.

Portal das Águas is located on SP-250, along the stretch between Piedade and Ibiúna. It serves as a welcome and orientation point for visitors arriving in Piedade via the Rodovias Bunjiro Nakao and Raposo Tavares; it also features an artificial waterfall. Here, arrival guidance and a scenic feature come together in one place.

Using Experiences to Choose Your Accommodation

When choosing a vacation rental, you can first decide what you want to focus on during your trip: the cherry blossoms along Avenida Marginal, natural landmarks along the stretches of road mentioned above, the protected area between Piedade and Ibiúna, or cultural and socio-environmental activities. Then compare the exact location of your accommodation with the places that matter most to you. This way, you can choose a base that suits the experiences you actually plan to enjoy, rather than relying on a general impression of Piedade.
