Campina Grande Do Sul
Accommodation in Campina Grande Do Sul
Campina Grande do Sul offers a range of possibilities for a trip: Casa da Memória is dedicated to local history, Parque Municipal Ari Coutinho Bandeira is on the Capivari-Cachoeira Reservoir, and Pico Paraná is a popular destination for mountaineers and climbers. If you’re looking for a vacation rental in the municipality, you can consider whether cultural history, activities on the water, or a mountain destination should shape your vacation.
A House with a History
The house that now contains Casa da Memória was built in the early 20th century and restored by the Campina Grande do Sul municipal government. Casa da Memória researches, preserves, and conserves documentary collections relating to the municipality’s history. The building thus brings together the history of the house’s construction and the study of local history.
In the past, the historic house accommodated a public library, a music school, and an art gallery for exhibitions. These former uses show that the building served various cultural functions; they differ from Casa da Memória’s current role.
Festivals and Culture
Parque de Eventos Quielse Crisóstomo da Silva is one of the city’s longest-standing venues for festivals. Another cultural venue is Teatro Municipal José Carlos Zanlorenzi in Jardim Paulista. It was scheduled to host Festival Cultural 2024 from October 17 to November 1, 2024. The year refers to this festival and describes a period in the past.
Water and Mountain Scenery
Parque Municipal Ari Coutinho Bandeira is on the shore of the Capivari-Cachoeira Reservoir and is used for fishing and boating excursions. These activities give the area a different focus from the facilities dedicated to local history. If you’d like to include water activities in your trip, you can add the park as a separate destination to your vacation plans.
Within the municipality, Pico Paraná reaches 1,877 m and is the highest point in southern Brazil. The mountain is a popular destination for mountaineers and climbers. Parque Estadual Pico Paraná is in Paraná’s Serra do Mar, specifically in the Serra Ibitiraquire, and extends across the municipalities of Campina Grande do Sul and Antonina. The mountain and the protected area thus provide a clear focus on nature and mountain sports for your trip.
One specific set of directions to the trailhead starts at BR-116: after Posto do Tio Doca, turn right at Ponte do Rio Tucum. From there, follow the road for 6 km, passing Fazenda Pico Paraná and Fazenda Rio das Pedras, until you reach the IAT base at the end of the road. The access to the trail up Pico Paraná and to other peaks in the protected area starts there. If Pico Paraná is your main destination, take this route into account when choosing your vacation rental and planning your trip.
