Naviraí can be experienced through a range of places and events: a centrally located city park with a lake and a running and walking trail sits alongside municipal protected areas, birdwatching, market offerings, and cultural and agricultural events. This variety offers different ways to shape a trip. If you’re looking for a holiday rental, you can first consider whether you’d rather focus on urban places and events or on the municipality’s nature-related attractions.

City Park and Exercise

Parque Municipal Sucupira is located on Avenida Caarapó in central Naviraí. The park has a centrally located lake and a running and walking trail more than 800 metres long. The water and the opportunity to exercise are two distinct features of this place: the trail’s length gives you a specific point of reference for planning your day, while the lake shapes the park’s landscape. A bike path is being built on Avenida Dourados. It offers a different kind of exercise from the running and walking trail in Sucupira Park: one is for cycling, the other for running and walking.

Protected Areas and Birdlife

Parque Natural Municipal do Córrego Cumandaí is Naviraí’s only municipal protected area located entirely within an urban area. Its diverse birdlife includes toco toucans and blue-fronted amazons. The park is also intended to promote environmental education practices. Nature conservation, birdlife and environmental education give this protected area a distinctive profile among Naviraí’s varied nature-related attractions.

Other protected areas extend into the municipality. There, 16,284.8512 hectares of Parque Estadual das Várzeas do Rio Ivinhema are located within the municipal boundaries. The protected park covers a total of 73,345.15 hectares in the Rio Paraná watershed and also extends across Jateí and Taquarussu. Within the municipality, Parque Nacional de Ilha Grande includes 21 islands with a total area of 6,585.6880 hectares. The national park covers a total of 78,875.00 hectares and was established on 30 September 1997.

A specific example of birdwatching comes from 2024: about 91 bird species were recorded during a Global Big Day activity at Parque Natural Municipal de Naviraí. This site is 45 kilometres from the urban area and can be reached via the Naviraí/Porto Caiuá road. It therefore offers a different location from the centrally situated Parque Municipal Sucupira.

Market and Events

Feira do Galo is located on Avenida Campo Grande, opposite the offices of the Gerência de Desenvolvimento Econômico. Market stalls sell vegetables, pulses, fruit, root vegetables, baked goods, handicrafts and dairy products. The offerings include both food and handicrafts, adding a distinct market focus to the nature and event venues.

Festivals also offer different highlights. The 23rd FEJUNAVI – Encantos do Nordeste II is Naviraí’s traditional June festival. The event took place on 13 June 2026 at Praça Prefeito Euclides Antônio Fabris, celebrated the culture and traditions of the Northeast, and had free admission. The 28th Exponavi was Naviraí’s agricultural exhibition; on its first day, it included a bull show and a performance by the duo Mato Grosso e Mathias, among other attractions. The second edition of the Festival do Churrasco de Naviraí took place with free admission at Parque de Exposições Tatsue Suekane. After this edition, the festival was described as a city tradition.
