• Balneário Lourenção is considered the city of Dom Pedro’s most important tourist attraction.
• Balneário Lourenção was originally designed as a reservoir and built in the 1970s.
• The city of Dom Pedro began landscaping the access avenue to Balneário Lourenção; 150 acacia trees, also called Pingo de Ouro, were to be planted there to make the place more beautiful and provide shade.

Festivals and local culture

• On December 8, 2025, the Dom Pedro Department of Culture held a gospel night at Balneário Lourenção to welcome the city’s 73rd anniversary; this event is described as a tradition on the eve of the city anniversary.
• The parade for the off-season carnival proceeded along Avenida do Lourenção and ended with an awards ceremony at Balneário Lourenção.
• The traditional Feirinha Dompedrense was held for another edition.
