The Black Ridge Trail is a moderate 3.1-mile loop from the Rocky Knob Visitor Center via Black Ridge and Grassy Knoll back to the visitor center. For a shorter loop, there is the easy, 1-mile Rocky Knob Picnic Loop. The moderate Smart View Trail is 2.6 miles long and runs as a loop around the Smart View Recreation Area. Markets, Wine, and More Experiences

The Floyd Farmers Market takes place on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. from May through November and offers produce from local farmers. Villa Appalaccia is an agricultural winery in Virginia and produces wine from a local vineyard established in 1989. At Mabry Mill, cultural demonstrations take place on weekends in summer and early fall. The historical side of this site becomes tangible through the work of Ed Mabry and his wife Lizzy: They milled corn, sawed wood, and performed blacksmithing there for three decades.
