Following its restoration, the courthouse retains its original interior details. The Leon County Historical & Genealogy Research Center reopened at 204 East St. Mary’s Street in Centerville and is open Tuesdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Art is also part of the cultural offerings. Centerville hosts the annual “Art in the Park” event. The Leon County Art Trail comprises 30 sculptures that change annually; some works are permanently displayed in Eagle Scout Park. Races organized by the Lone Star Flat Track Association take place at the Leon County Expo Center in Buffalo. In Jewett, the city park offers sports fields and a paved walking path; the Fall Frolic also takes place there in October, and the Jewett Flea Market is held monthly.
