Take a break at City Park, get active on the Greenway Trail
City Park is a 3-acre natural setting in the center of town. The park makes a good place to pause and enjoy a quieter moment. Its features include a pavilion, several monuments and historical markers. The setting combines a green environment with memorials that offer insights into Corry’s history.
The Corry Junction Greenway Trail is 5.1 miles long. You can run, hike and bike there, as well as ride snowmobiles and horses and go cross-country skiing. The range of options spans different modes of travel and activities for different seasons. If you enjoy an active trip, you can take these offerings into account when deciding on Corry; if you are mainly looking for a relaxing break, City Park offers another way to spend time in town.
Local past and railroad history
The Corry Area Historical Society Museum invites you to explore the local past of Corry and the surrounding region. The centerpiece of the museum exhibits is the Climax locomotive B-1681. It provides a tangible connection to the railroad as you explore the town’s history. Admission to the museum is free. For travelers who want to include cultural and historical interests in their days, a museum visit can be considered a point of interest in its own right.
You can also encounter historical memorials in Corry City Park. These include a Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission marker honoring a Corry businessman who was involved in founding the Pennsylvania Game Commission. There is also Corry’s Civil War monument. Downtown Corry was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 4, 2022. The museum, markers and historic downtown offer different ways to explore the past: through exhibits, individual memorials and Downtown Corry’s historic status.
Corry Fest and travel interests
Corry Fest is an annual homecoming celebration. Attractions are spread over four days; the festival features food vendors, artisans, music, magicians and petting zoos. The program offers more than one main attraction and appeals to a range of interests. The festival is a distinct reason to consider Corry as a destination when planning your trip. Since it is an annual celebration, you can plan your stay around your interest in the festival.
City Park also provides a venue for a farmers market. Together with its pavilion and memorials, this makes the park a place where relaxation, local events and history come together.
