Wickliffe offers several different reasons to visit: golf on a hilly, tree-lined course, a walking loop in Orlando Park, and historical connections at various locations. Sports fields and gardens are also part of the city’s character. When choosing a vacation rental in Wickliffe, you can first consider whether golf, outdoor activities, or a combination of parks and history is especially important for your trip. Each of the specific offerings has its own focus.

Golf and Outdoor Trails

Green Ridge Golf Course features a 9-hole course with a par of 32 and a length of 1,915 yards. Its terrain is hilly, and tree-lined plateaus are another feature of the course. This gives you specific information about the terrain, as well as the course’s size, to help with your trip planning. Play is on a first-come, first-served basis; tee times do not need to be reserved. If golf is the focus of your stay, this is useful information for planning your day. Orlando Park, by contrast, has a 0.3-mile walking loop. The walking loop and the golf course thus offer two clearly different ways to spend time outdoors.

Jindra Park has four pickleball courts. The park was dedicated in honor of Wickliffe resident Robert Jindra. Together with the walking loop in Orlando Park, it adds a specific sports focus to the park offerings. Bicycles are allowed in Wickliffe’s parks. Cyclists are asked to be considerate of pedestrians and other park visitors. If you use a park by bicycle, keep this request in mind when sharing the space.

Parks and Historical Connections

Coulby Park is located on the former grounds of the Coulallenby estate and has gardens. Here, the site’s historical connection and the park’s gardens come together. Wickliffe City Hall is a mansion built by shipping magnate Harry Coulby. Wickliffe therefore has different historical points of interest: a former estate site associated with a park, and a mansion now known as City Hall. If you would like to include local history as well as outdoor activities in your travel plans, you can consider these connections as areas of interest in their own right.

Water Attractions and an Important Restriction

Coulby Aquatic Center is one of three outdoor aquatic facilities in Wickliffe. The restriction at the splash pad in Orlando Park is also important for families with children: it is reserved for residents. So don’t plan on it as an attraction available to everyone. This clear restriction sets it apart from the other park and sports facilities described here. When choosing your destination, it is worth considering your preferred activities together with this access restriction.

If you’d like to continue your search beyond Wickliffe, you can also find Painesville, Willoughby, Mentor and Eastlake.
