Millersburg combines a historic downtown with its own glass museum, a Queen Anne-style house museum, and a variety of ways to spend time outdoors. You can tailor your trip to your interests: enjoy culture in Historic Downtown, activities on the Holmes County Trail, or time in the city’s parks.

Historic Downtown and Millersburg Glass Art

Historic Downtown Millersburg is a Heritage Ohio Main Street Community. Along Jackson Street, preserved 19th-century buildings house shops, boutiques, restaurants, art galleries, and museums. For a culturally focused stay, this part of the city offers a range of places to visit, from local art to the stories behind the region’s glassmaking tradition.

The Victorian House Museum is a 28-room Queen Anne-style house listed on the National Register of Historic Places. If you’re interested in the history of the house, you can request a historical tour: at least six people are required, and advance reservations are necessary. The Sieverdes Millersburg Glass Museum features 400 masterpieces of Millersburg Glass. It shares the story of the local glassworks, its employees, and its owner, John Fenton. The glass museum is next to the Victorian House Museum; tickets are available in its lobby.

Explore the Holmes County Trail

The Holmes County Trail offers a paved route for biking, inline skating, walking, running, and wheelchair use. There is also an adjacent path for buggies and riders, intended for horse-drawn vehicles and horseback riding. The two paths therefore differ in their stated uses. The Millersburg Depot offers restrooms year-round and serves as an information center for the trail and the railroad.

The parks also offer a range of ways to spend your time. The Deer Run Park Complex includes a dog park, ball fields, a walking path, and exercise equipment. It also has the Timothy Baker Amphitheater, two pavilions, basketball courts, a skate park, a disc golf course, and a fenced playground. Old Airport Park has ball fields, extensive play equipment, a pavilion, and tennis, basketball, and pickleball courts. The park is accessible from the Holmes County Trail. When planning your day, you can consider whether to focus on using the trail, playing sports, visiting play areas, or combining several of these activities.

Millersburg also has natural-surface trails: Legacy Point has more than five miles of them. The Amish Country Farmers Market takes place in Historic Downtown on the first and third Saturdays of each month from June through October. When choosing your vacation rental, your planned trip activities may be the deciding factor—such as museums and downtown, a visit to the market, trail activities, or time in the parks. You can also explore Dundee as another destination in this selection.
