Bunker Hill Covered Bridge is one of only two historic covered bridges preserved in North Carolina and has been designated a National Civil Engineering Landmark. It is open daily from sunrise to sunset. Hickory’s Riverwalk is open to the public and includes the longest inverted Fink truss bridge in North America. The bridge and the Riverwalk trails are open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. from March through October and daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. from November through February.

Pottery in the Catawba Valley is part of the region’s identity—a vibrant craft tradition that continues to be produced and collected. Farmers’ markets featuring regional products take place at several locations in Catawba County.
