Zuni is a destination for anyone who wants to combine cultural history, landscapes, and independent exploration. The area features mesas, deep and extensive arroyos and canyons, as well as pinyon-juniper woodlands, ponderosa pines, sagebrush, and grassland areas. Zuni’s marked trail system covers more than 50 miles across nine different routes. The Zuni Community Trails run near the village through forests and over mesas. They are suitable for walking, jogging, running, and cycling.

Another option is Ho’n A:wan Park. This 2.5-acre community space includes a walking path, a community garden, a basketball court, and artwork related to Zuni. The festival includes a two-day art market each year with more than 50 artists and food vendors. The Zuni Pueblo ArtWalk takes place throughout the year and can therefore be a cultural part of your trip even independently of a single festival date.
