Discover Ventnor City
Accommodation in Ventnor City
Ventnor City offers a variety of reasons to stay on the Atlantic coast: a long boardwalk for exercise, beaches for the summer months, a distinctive fishing pier, and a cultural center with arts programs. Which aspect of the town interests you most can shape your search for a vacation rental—whether you mainly want to spend time by the water, enjoy outdoor activities, or discover cultural offerings.
Boardwalk for exercise
The Ventnor City Boardwalk is 1.7 miles long and connects to the Atlantic City Boardwalk. Visitors can walk, jog, or ride a bike there. The path offers different ways to enjoy the outdoors: you can plan a walk, start the day with a jog, or experience the boardwalk by bike. Its connection to the Atlantic City Boardwalk is a distinctive feature of this section; the stated length of 1.7 miles refers to the Ventnor City Boardwalk.
Beaches and views of the Atlantic
During the summer months, between Memorial Day and Labor Day, Ventnor City offers lifeguarded beaches. If you like to include beach time in your vacation plans, you can keep this seasonal period in mind. Ventnor City Beachfront Park is located along the boardwalk on New Haven Avenue. From there, you can enjoy views of the beach and the Atlantic Ocean. The boardwalk and park offer different ways to experience the waterfront: exercise along the path and views of the beach and sea.
Fishing pier and designated beach areas
The Ventnor City Fishing Pier is 1,000 feet long and is considered the longest ocean fishing pier in the state of New Jersey. Annual pass holders can use it for fishing and to enjoy the views. Surfing Beach is next to the pier. If you’re interested in fishing or the views from the pier, this offers a different focus from the boardwalk; the adjacent Surfing Beach is another feature of this stretch of coast.
There are no lifeguards stationed at Kayak Beach. It is monitored by lifeguards at Sacramento Avenues between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. This information is important when planning which beach to visit. At Hobie Cat Beach, sailboats can be registered seasonally for a fee. The boat ramp at Ski Beach, by contrast, is available to Ventnor City residents for launching boats and personal watercraft. The ramp rules apply specifically to residents, so they differ from the seasonal registration at Hobie Cat Beach.
Arts, rowing, and playgrounds
Since 1975, the Ventnor City Cultural Arts Center has offered classes in visual arts, crafts, and performing arts. The center also hosts the annual Ocean Breeze Arts & Crafts Show. In addition to waterfront activities, those interested in culture can consider art and crafts. For activity on the water, the Viking Rowing Club runs a rowing program for all ages and experience levels in spring, summer, and fall.
Ventnor City has playgrounds in five different areas. Along with the boardwalk, beaches, and cultural offerings, they provide a range of activities to consider when deciding what to focus on during your trip. When looking for a vacation rental, you can first weigh whether the beach and water, outdoor activities, or cultural offerings are most important for your stay.
