Fenton combines diverse recreational opportunities with local history and several waterfront locations. Those looking for a vacation apartment or vacation home for their stay can tailor their trip to their preferred experiences: sports, walks, fishing, family time or a visit to the museum are available in a variety of forms.

Sports and Exercise in the Parks

The Fenton Sports Complex features ten illuminated baseball fields, an illuminated soccer field, batting cages, two sand volleyball courts and two T-ball fields. A concession stand, pavilion, bleachers, parking and restrooms are also part of the facility. This makes it especially easy to plan a varied stay when sports facilities or active time outdoors are part of your itinerary.

Fenton City Park offers 1.4 miles of paved paths for walking, running, cycling and inline skating. The park also includes seven softball fields, eight soccer fields, six practice areas and two basketball courts. Olde Towne Plaza is also a starting point for the Great Rivers Greenway – Fenton Trailhead Connector. When choosing your accommodation, it may therefore be helpful to first decide whether you mainly want to plan for trails, sports facilities or various recreational locations.

Water, Trails and Activities with Children

The Meramec Greenway is a linear park along the Meramec River. The Meramec River Greenway includes a walkway built from recycled materials. Public fishing is available at Bud Weil Lake in Bud Weil Memorial Park. You can also fish publicly at Westside Lake in Westside Park, which also has a 1-mile paved path, a basketball court and a playground.

Fabick Nature Preserve includes two lakes where public fishing is available. Preslar Lake is considered the park's most popular and easiest-to-reach lake. Valiant Park has a shelter, a playground and restrooms. If you are traveling with children, you can take these specific park features into account when planning your day without limiting your stay to a single activity.

History and Local Character

The Fenton History Museum is located in the 1906 Swantner House. This house is one of the oldest surviving homes in Fenton. The museum can usually be visited on Wednesdays or Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., as well as by appointment. Check these hours when planning and combine your museum visit with your trip's other interests.

The site of Bud Weil Memorial Park also has a historical connection: it was part of a 60-acre property purchased by Domijan in 1929. The Fenton Community and Farmers' Market takes place at the Meramec Greenway Pavilion in Fenton City Park. This allows history, local impressions and time outdoors to be considered side by side when planning your trip.
