Merrifield: Trail, E-Bike Rentals and Nature Pier

Discover Merrifield through different travel ideas: active days on the trail, e-bike rentals, water activities, and a seasonal park each offer a different experience. When choosing a vacation rental, it helps to decide in advance what you want your stay to focus on and which plans depend on the season or a specific date.

Include the trail and e-bike rentals in your plans

Parking is available in Merrifield for the Paul Bunyan State Trail. If you include the trail in your day’s plans, you can take this information into account. Lakes Area R&R in Merrifield offers e-bike rentals. This is another option: the trail information is about parking, while the rentals offer another activity idea. When planning, you can decide which is your priority—the trail or an e-bike rental. For families or groups coordinating their preferences, this is a practical question. Once you’ve settled on the activity you want, you can tailor your search for a vacation rental more closely to your plans.

Water activities and seasonal opening

Merrifield Nature Pier offers opportunities for non-motorized water activities. If you’re especially drawn to the water, you can include the pier as a separate reason for your trip. This lets you compare that focus with plans for the trail or e-bike rentals.

Merrifield Lions Park has seasonal opening hours: it is open from April or the spring thaw until September or the first snowfall—whichever comes first. Actual opening days may vary depending on conditions. If a visit is important to your travel plans, check the seasonal information in advance.

An announced event date from 2025

The Merrifield Lions Park Festival and Car Show is another event to consider when planning a trip. The tenth edition was announced for July 19, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Merrifield Lions Park on County Road 3, seven miles north of Brainerd. The date and time refer to this announced event. If attending the festival is important to your trip, check in advance whether a current date has been scheduled.

Use your travel idea to guide your vacation rental search

When looking for a vacation rental in Merrifield, you can consider two questions separately: What kind of activity would you like to prioritize, and which plans depend on the season or an event date? The first question helps you sort out your interests; the second brings timing considerations into your plans. For families, it can help to first choose a shared main priority and consider other interests as extras. Then check the location of a specific property against your own priorities and travel plans. This way, you can tailor your search to the kind of stay you’re planning in Merrifield.
