Another form of transportation is offered by the 18-hole disc golf course at Caldwell Park & Environmental Learning Center, which runs through forest and prairie.

Nelson Pioneer Farm became the home of the Mahaska County Historical Society in 1958. Seated wine tastings are available at Tassel Ridge Winery. For planning longer routes, the Mahaska Community Recreation Trail is an interesting development. More than 13.6 miles of the planned 15-mile trail have already been completed. Once fully completed, the 10-foot-wide paved trail is intended to form a loop around Oskaloosa and University Park in Mahaska County. Until then, the current status of the project should be taken into account when planning each day's activities.
