Nature Experiences for Different Daily Itineraries

Town Creek Marsh is a seasonal observation site where rails can be seen foraging on the mudflats. During hunting season, Conecuh County also offers opportunities to hunt white-tailed deer. These different focuses can help you decide whether to choose your vacation rental or vacation home based more on a nature-oriented itinerary or on cultural activities.

The town's history also includes the Old Paul Post Office, which served as the community's post office until 1975 and was added to the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage in 2013, as well as the Old Airport Tower and Beacon west of Evergreen. The tower was built in 1931 as part of the U.S. airmail service between New Orleans and Atlanta and served as a training facility for the U.S. Navy during World War II. Booker's Mill was built in the late 1860s, supplied the surrounding community with hydropower for many years and burned down in 1982. Today, the site serves as an event venue and houses historic buildings. The former farm store is now a museum with agricultural equipment and artifacts from Indigenous American cultures.
