Brick House at Oak Lawn Farm is a two-storey residence at 12558 Route 114 in Penobsquis and is designated a historic site. It is associated with William Freeze, a stonemason who first settled 640 acres of land that included this property. The house was built from the original bricks on the same foundation. This place brings together two aspects: the building’s history and the history of the larger settlement property.

ATV Tours and Farm Events

The Sussex Valley Quad Trail offers seven one-day adventure tours, each with a different destination. In Penobsquis, Trail 3409 starts on the grounds of the Timberland Motel/Animaland Campground. The Kings County Museum and Old County Gaol presents changing exhibitions on the history of Kings County. It is housed in the Centennial Building and the adjoining old Kings County Gaol. The Sussex Nature Walkway is a 5 km self-guided trail along Trout Creek that passes through an area with diverse flora and fauna. At Hampton Marsh, the landscape and activities are different: the wetland is part of the St. John River floodplain and lies within a network of oxbows, side channels and backwaters of the Kennebecasis River. There are opportunities for birdwatching and photography, as well as recreational boating, canoeing and kayaking.
