Gachuurt offers two different travel experiences: an 86 km cycling route runs through the area, and the international music festival Play Time was planned there for July 2022. Here, an extended route with a specific course sits alongside a dated cultural plan. When choosing a holiday rental, you can consider whether cycling should shape your stay or whether Gachuurt will be another focus of your trip.

An 86 km cycling route through Gachuurt

The Ulaanbaatar Mountain Biking Club lists an 86 km cycling route: it runs from Dunjingarav via Gachuurt, Baga Khuandyn Am, Ultiin Davaa, Dendii Am, Davaa and Ikh Khuandyn Am, then returns via Gachuurt to Dunjingarav. At 86 km, it is an extended route, and its length sets the scale for planning the ride. If you plan to ride the route, check current access conditions and whether it is possible to ride it in advance.

Play Time: Festival plans for 2022

The 20th international edition of the music festival Play Time was planned for 7–10 July 2022 at the Mongol Shiltgeen complex in Gachuurt. Play Time is therefore explicitly part of the look back at 2022. The topics differ in time and type: the cycling route offers a specific course, while the festival, as a dated cultural plan, provides a historical point of reference.

Nature and culture in the wider destination of Töv

The burial site of the Xiongnu elite at Noyon Uul was discovered in 1912. Listed on the UNESCO Tentative List, the site covers 129.6 hectares on Kharaagiin Noyon Uul and extends across Batsumber, Bornuur and Mandal in Töv Province. Aglag Monastery is a Buddhist temple and museum in the landscape of Mount Gariid, characterised by rock and forest formations. It displays Buddhist artworks created using traditional thangka painting, silk appliqué, gilded metal casting and papier-mâché techniques. Behind the temple, an adventurous hiking route begins, following a designated path secured with ropes.

Community-based tourism offerings are also part of the wider destination of Töv. A Töv Province report dated 3 April 2026 mentions offerings run by 98 households in 13 sums. The participating households host up to 829 guests per visit; offerings include insights into the Mongolian way of life as well as horse riding.
