Kazarman: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Kazarman is a starting point for trips to the Saimaluu-Tash rock art gallery. It is located on a plateau of the Fergana Range at an altitude of around 3,000 metres; the petroglyphs in the black rock date from the Bronze Age and the early Iron Age. Culture

Saimaly-Tash comprises around 10,000 stones bearing images; the oldest date from the third to the early second millennium BC. Saimaluu-Tash has been a sacred site from the third millennium BC through the Middle Ages to the present day.

South of Kazarman lies Saimaluu Tash State Park, established in 2001, on the Kurart River.

Nature

A transfer from Kazarman to Nasan Bulak marks the start of a horse-riding or hiking route. Nasan Bulak is a small waterfall with a long series of cascades.

Kazarman is also the starting point for tours to the Besh Kol Plateau and five low-lying mountain lakes.

Paths and Routes

Kazarman is part of the Kyrgyz Nomad Trail, a national network of hiking trails that connects travellers with Kyrgyzstan’s natural and cultural heritage.

Kazarman is a stopover on both the long road from Osh to Song Kul Lake and the long road from Osh to the Tash Rabat caravanserai.

A travel route to Song Kul passes through Kazarman, Nasan Bulak, Bala Tapan, Kadu Pass and Ashuu Tor.

Route 20 is classified for hiking and horse travel and runs from Jalal-Abad via Kazarman to Lake Ak-Kel.

Season and Getting There

The road to Saimaluu-Tash is usable for only about one month a year, approximately from mid-July to mid-August; the first snow appears there in September. Kazarman can be reached from Jalal-Abad or from the Naryn Region by bus or taxi.

Route 20 is open seasonally from June to mid-September, a period of 106 days.
