Hiking and Trails

On the Etseri–Meziri–Becho hiking trail, T’vebishi is a waypoint; in the hiking trail network of Upper Svaneti, the village serves as a trail junction towards Mazeri. The marked trail is 18 km long, is classified as moderately difficult and is considered manageable in one day. Its forest section descends to T’vebishi and then continues towards Mazeri. Along the route, hikers pass a mineral water spring, cross the Dolra River, walk past the Grand Hotel Ushba and turn towards Mazeri at a T-junction. The trail leads through alpine meadows, forests and mountain landscapes and offers views of southern Ushba and the villages of the Becho community.

Lake Meziri is a very small high-altitude lake along the hiking route. In summer, it can be relatively dry, but it reflects the surrounding peaks and alpine nature. The route also includes Mezuris Angelosi Church, located on a hill and considered to be an 11th-century church; below it are a small lake and a shelter. The trail continues through the wider Becho Valley and reaches T’vebishi.
