Culture and history

Elsau's church history reaches far back. It is believed that a church was already built in Elsau in the 7th or 8th century. During rescue excavations at the church in Elsau, a 9th-century burial pit was discovered in 2003. The present late Gothic church replaced an earlier Romanesque place of worship. The sequence of the presumed founding, the excavation discovery and the later replacement building brings together different historical layers at the church site.

Art and events

Kunsthaus Elsau focuses on art and events. The Kunsthaus is located in a 200-year-old house, was completed in 2010 and has exhibition rooms as well as a concert hall for 70 people. It is used for public and private events, including art exhibitions and concerts. The Kunsthaus Elsau is open to visitors by prior arrangement. Thus, both the older building fabric and the clearly defined rooms and forms of use are part of the building's character.

Landscape

The landscape of the Eulach Valley also has a clearly describable formation history. The Eulach Valley acquired its present form during the last Ice Age. The retreating glaciers left behind moraine hills, and the Eulach followed a strongly winding course through the valley floor. The valley's form thus links the retreat of the Ice Age glaciers with the visible rises in the terrain and the course of the waterway through the valley floor.

Leisure

Another local feature is the Niderwis open-air swimming pool. It is a well-maintained, attractive and family-friendly facility. Alongside the historical, cultural and landscape-related topics, Elsau therefore also offers a location explicitly characterised as family-friendly.

When comparing holiday apartments in Elsau, first check the exact location, accommodation type and intended occupancy on the respective listing page. Included services may also be defined differently. Therefore, pay attention to the individual price components as well as the booking and cancellation conditions. These points must be checked directly on the respective listing before booking; the details shown there remain authoritative. Also compare which accommodation type, occupancy and services are actually entered and which conditions apply to the selected offer. This keeps the review limited to the information on the respective listing page. For offers relating to Elsau, also check whether the destination is actually listed as Elsau in the offer and whether the occupancy suits your travel group. The stated minimum or maximum occupancy is also relevant, where such fields are available, as is the question of which services are included in the total price. If prices differ, check whether final cleaning, additional guests or other costs are listed separately. It should likewise be clear for which period the conditions apply and whether cancellation is subject to deadlines or fees. Compare these entries directly on the respective pages, without drawing conclusions about an individual offer from general information about the location.
