Oppens is located in a part of the hilly landscape between the Orbe plain and the Broye.
The municipality includes a gently sloping hillside towards Sauteru, bordered by the Greyle Valley to the west and north.
The eastern part includes the Tuilière d'Oppens plateau, which is bordered by the Sauteru and its tributary Foirause to the west and by the Mentue to the east.
