Lichtensteig is a small town and municipality in the canton of St. Gallen, in the Toggenburg electoral district, at an elevation of 625 metres.
Culture and History
The settlement was first documented in 1228 as a fortified site belonging to the Counts of Toggenburg under the name Liehtvnsteige.
The town's history is closely connected with Neu-Toggenburg Castle.
