Culture
The church in Mutten was completed in 1584. The church in Obermutten contains a Toggenburg organ dating from 1807.
The Obermutten Village Museum is located in the village’s oldest longhouse, a private house dating from the 17th century. Kulturtenn Obermutten was created from a hay barn; the character of the hay barn has been preserved. It is suitable for seminars, workshops and school weeks.
Muttner Alpkäse is produced on the Muttner Alp and can be purchased at inscha Laada in Kulturtenn Obermutten or directly on the alp during the alpine season.
Trails
The Thusis–Mutten PostBus route runs from Thusis along the Viamala Gorge to Mutten and continues to Obermutten. Mutten provides access to hiking trails. Village tours lead through Untermutten, Stafel and Obermutten.
An easy hiking trail leads from Obermutten to the summit of Muttner Höhi in around 25 minutes, with an ascent of 140 metres. The Obermutten–Faleia–Obermutten winter hike follows a circular route.
Landscape
In 2009, Pro Natura acquired around 25 hectares of the mountain meadows of Obermutten and has maintained them jointly with a farmer ever since.
Muttner Höhi is a viewpoint at 2,003 metres above sea level with views of Domleschg, Schams, the Albula Valley and Heinzenberg. The summit of Muttner Höhi offers a 360-degree panorama, benches and a barbecue area.
