Hok combines sporting experiences, designated cultural heritage and diverse natural surroundings. Two 18-hole golf courses, extensive hiking trails, lakes, forests and wetlands offer a variety of options for a holiday. If you are looking for a holiday apartment or holiday home, you can therefore first consider whether golf, longer hikes, culture or peaceful paths along the Hokaån should be the focus of your trip.

Golf and Culture as Distinctive Features of Hok

Hooks GK has two 18-hole golf courses: a parkland course and a woodland course. This distinction makes planning your golf activities more varied and gives you the opportunity to include different course characteristics in your trip. For families or mixed travel groups, golf can be an activity in its own right, while other travellers use the time to enjoy nature and cultural experiences.

One cultural highlight is Hoks järnbruk. The ironworks is designated as industrial cultural heritage and gives the area a historical perspective. The main building of Hooks Herrgård was constructed in the late 1770s. Those interested in regional history and older buildings can take these themes into account when choosing their excursions.

Hiking Trails with Long Routes and Individual Stages

The 40 km Munkaleden trail leads from Nydala to Byarum and is designated as a meditation hiking trail. It therefore represents a longer route where the trail itself is the main focus of planning. The Munkagårdsleden begins at Munkehatt and leads via Svenarum, Hok and the Höglandsleden to Byarum Church. Both trails offer different ways of experiencing the landscape and can serve as a guide for travellers who want to focus their stay more on hiking.

On the Höglandsleden, stage HÖ20 at Hooks Herrgård provides access to the hiking trail. From there, you can reach Byarum or Tomtabacken. Stage HÖ19 passes through varied Småland landscapes with shimmering lakes, deep forests and beautiful views. For day planning, it is useful to consider the desired distance and the specific access point separately.

Lakes, Wetlands and Paths for Quieter Days

The Hok area includes extensive wetlands, forests, paths, connecting trails and lakes. This combination appeals to different holiday preferences: you can plan physical activity and longer routes or focus your stay more on scenery and relaxation. There is a walking path along the Hokaån. At the Hokaån in Österskog, there is also a barbecue area and a jetty. Alongside the longer hiking trails, this provides smaller natural destinations for a less extensive excursion.

Hoks naturcamping is located about 2 km outside Hok and is a small, family-friendly campsite in natural surroundings.

Getting There and Choosing a Location

An unmarked 1.6 km detour each way connects the main trail with Hok railway station. The station has train and bus connections. If you are planning to travel via Hok railway station, you can include this connection in your personal travel plans. At the same time, the choice of accommodation depends on your preferred holiday style: golf, historic sites, long hiking trails and walks by the water each offer a different focus.

To compare other destinations, you can also visit Skillingaryd, Månsarp, Vaggeryd and Hok. This allows you to combine the search for suitable holiday accommodation with the question of which landscapes, trails and experiences should define your trip.
