Culture and History

The Villa de Salazar is designated as a cultural asset of cultural interest (Bien de Interés Cultural) in the category of “historic ensemble”. The historic ensemble of Salazar includes numerous manor houses decorated with coats of arms, alongside traditional houses. The San Bartolomé Hermitage forms part of the historic ensemble of Salazar.

The Torres de los Salazar consist of two towers, each measuring six metres on each side, with three storeys and a connecting central section. The Church of San Esteban in Salazar is Gothic. The Iglesia de El Cristo stands on the site of a former medieval monastery, whose remains from the 13th century have been preserved.
