Lloreda lies on the plain of the Suscuaja Valley. The Ruta IV “From Lloreda to Esles” begins in Lloreda at a botanical garden and follows a path parallel to the Suscuaja River. It climbs through oak trees and runs along the edge of a eucalyptus plantation.

Lloreda’s architectural heritage includes Cantabrian manor buildings, including coat-of-arms houses. Getting there

From Santander, travel via the CA-142 towards Guarnizo and Villacarriedo. Before Sarón, turn left onto the CA-618 towards Santa María de Cayón and Llerana; this road leads directly to Lloreda.

Local character

At the comounamanzana project in Lloreda, the farm visit includes a guided tour through the fruit trees with explanations of organic cultivation and the seasonal management of the fruit. The visit combines the tour through the trees with information about cultivation and management.

The project began in 2007 in Lloreda in the Valle de Cayón: Juan Pedro and María planted apple trees there. This development is therefore also part of the history of the project locally.
