Abornikano: Church, Oak Forest and Sierra Badaia

In the Barrio de Arriba of Abornikano stands the former church Antigua iglesia de San Clemente. It is considered a medieval church dating from the 13th century and a suspected archaeological zone.

Culture and History

In the lower part of Abornikano, the building El Molino or La Fábrica has been preserved. It is located near the building of the ironworks. The significant Abornikano ironworks was in operation from 1730.

Abornikano once had a palace that belonged to the territory ruled by the Ayala family. The parish church of San Clemente is a modern building constructed over an older predecessor. Its portico has a door with a flattened arch and two round-arched openings.
