Discover Gestoso: Route, Nature and Culture

Gestoso can be explored via the Carbayal de Salgueiras Route. Classified as easy (PR-AS 215), the route is a 6.15-kilometre circular hike through the mountains that passes through Salgueiras and Xestoso. The route reaches the Xestoso stream, whose riparian woodland consists of alders, ash trees and willows. The foundation year, building structure and roof forms therefore represent different types of historical and architectural information.

Fiesta in Xestoso

For 25 July 2026, the Fiesta de Nuestra Señora del Carmen de Xestoso was announced in Xestoso, featuring religious tradition, gastronomy, music and activities for all age groups. The programme announced for the event included a solemn Mass followed by a procession, a communal meal, children’s entertainment, raffles and musical performances.
