Cartavio: Pilgrimage Route, Coast and Historic Heritage

The Senda Costera Ortiguera-Viavélez E-9 also passes through the village; it is classified as a low-difficulty route and is used for hiking and mountain biking. Playa del Barco, also known as Playa de El Barco or Playa de Loza, is a 200-metre-long pebble and gravel beach with moderate surf. The beach is easily accessible on foot or by car. Playa de Armazá can be reached via a path that begins in Cartavio: you can drive as far as Cartavio, then continue on foot. Festivals and Traditions

In Cartavio, Friday the 11th, Saturday the 12th and Sunday the 13th are scheduled as feast days dedicated to Nuestra Señora del Rosario. The Rosario celebration was originally also known as El Rosario and El Rosarín. Later, the festivities concluded with a communal outing to the “prao de Carbueiro”, featuring empanada, tortillas, other typical foods, cider and bagpipe music.
