Cutiellos: Mountain Trails, Cultural Heritage and Cider

Cutiellos is considered a small, typical Asturian village. The Enlace-Pedrorio mountain biking route connects the GR 101 Camín Real de la Mesa with the Narcea Valley near San Bartolomé.

Landscape

The route descends to Cutiellos and then continues along the road to Pumarada. After crossing the AS-15, Enlace-Pedrorio passes through the valley to San Bartolomé, runs past the local church and reaches the starting point of BTT 1. Before reaching Cutiellos, the route climbs towards the Sierra and Pico Pruyales, offering wide views over the Narcea Valley and the surrounding mountains. For planning purposes, the aforementioned highland, valley and village sections can be considered separately. The section via Cutiellos and Pumarada, the route through the valley near San Bartolomé and the climb to the Sierra therefore differ significantly from one another, even though they belong to the same route. The named stops give the route a clear sequence of village, road, valley, church and mountain landscape.

Nature

Belmonte de Miranda is home to areas protected by the European Union through the Natura 2000 network. Numerous mountain hiking trails lead through these areas. For personal planning, you can consider mountain hiking trails and the mountain biking route as different types of activity side by side. This means that, in terms of nature, both the protected areas and the specific route type of the mountain hiking trails are central.

Culture

The archaeological necropolis Necrópolis Tumular del Alto del Pedrorio is located in Cutiellos. The cultural heritage site Explotación de Reguera Seco is also located in Cutiellos. When planning your day, archaeology and cultural heritage can be considered as two separate topics. Both names refer to different cultural points of interest within Cutiellos: the necropolis stands alongside the cultural heritage site, without requiring both places to be combined into a single attraction.

Between Cutiellos, the Narcea Valley and Belmonte de Miranda, different thematic points of interest exist side by side. Local history, the route, the natural area and the cider tour can be considered as separate areas without combining them into a single attraction or activity. This creates a clear distinction for your own selection between cultural heritage, movement, landscape and regional tasting experiences. The various focal points thus remain understandable within their own respective contexts.
