Nuevo Portil – Lagoon, Coast and Nature Trails

Nuevo Portil can be explored through specific landscape features: the Laguna del Portil is a permanent freshwater lagoon covering 11 hectares, surrounded by mixed forests of coastal pines and juniper stands. It is home to a large population of waterbirds. Water, forest and birdlife stand alongside one another as distinct nature themes.

Nature and Trails

The trail around the Laguna del Portil passes through a typical coastal ecosystem characterised by pine trees with a Mediterranean understorey. Its route is almost circular, beginning at a viewpoint on the HV-4112 coastal road and leading into the pine forest around the lagoon. There are three adapted, freestanding viewpoints in the area of the trails mentioned. There is a children's playground in the surrounding area.

The Caño de la Culata trail crosses a wooden walkway that traverses the dune front. The Caño de la Culata botanical trail describes twelve plant species. Course length, practice formats, rental and instruction represent different aspects of the same golf offering.
