Bácor: Trails, Cave Museum and Historic Traces

The “SINGULAR MONTE PAJARILLO and TRACAMULAS” trail passes through Bácor-Olivar and is classified as a desert landscape. Another trail experience is offered by the Trancamulas route: the 13-kilometre circular route starts in the village square and has a moderate difficulty level.

The Iglesia de Bácor-Olivar was built by the local residents themselves. The Castillo de Bácor-Olivar is mentioned in caliphal sources and was captured in the 9th century.

La Gata Negra, the Museo-Cueva de Rafa Moya, is a cave museum carved into the rock, where art, history and nature come together. The museum includes galleries, courtyards and open areas where works and the memory of a place with modest beginnings are preserved.

Geographical location

Bácor-Olivar has two main access roads, one from the south and one from the north. Both run along the GR-7100 road, which crosses the village from one end to the other. One route connects Bácor-Olivar, in this order, with Campo Cámara, Pozo Alcón, Cuevas del Campo, Freila, Zújar and Baza.
