The Pinar de Roche is located on the Atlantic coast of Andalusia, directly next to the settlement of the same name in the municipality of Conil de la Frontera in the province of Cádiz, and covers approximately 689.18 hectares. It is a coastal pine forest between dunes and sandy areas. For planning your trip, you can consider nature, trails, the beach and history as separate themes here.

Nature

The Dehesa de Roche linear hiking trail is 5.8 kilometres long, has a low difficulty level, starts at the Mirador de los Enebros and ends at the Área Recreativa Roche. Along this route, the trail leads from stands of sea juniper and savin vegetation to a now-established pine forest planted in 1860.

The Río Roche linear hiking trail is 1.6 kilometres long, also has a low difficulty level, runs parallel to the riverbed of the Río Roche and connects Puerto de Conil with the Roche residential development. The Río Roche hiking trail area is home to the fartet, a small fish with ray-finned fins that is classified as endangered.

At the Calas de Roche, a network of paths crosses Mediterranean scrubland above the slope and allows walks with panoramic views over the entire beach. You can compare the two linear routes by length and course; the paths at the coves add another type of walk to this comparison.

Beaches and Coast

At Playa de Roche, which is located in the immediate vicinity of Roche, there are lifeguard towers, a first-aid station, beach cleaning, access walkways and toilets. This beach also has a designated area suitable for surfing, with specified usage times.

The nearby beaches also include Playa de Conil, Playa Mambo and Playa Cala del Aceite. Cala del Aceite can be reached via tracks that branch off from the CA-4202 road near the mouth of the Río Roche.

For planning purposes, you can consider the coast separately according to beach facilities, regulated surfing times, other beach locations and the access route described above.

When choosing a holiday apartment in Roche, you can compare travel dates, room categories and cancellation conditions on the respective listing page. For your own planning, you can consider the coastal pine forest, hiking trails, beaches and cultural sites as separate areas of focus alongside one another.

Culture

In the same local area, you will also find Barrio Nuevo and Fuente Del Gallo.

The Faro de Roche is located in a lighthouse converted from a 16th-century watchtower. This watchtower was part of the coastal defence line.

The area around Roche is home to the Museo Raíces Conileñas museum, the La Chanca museum, the El Taller Del Arte museum and the Castillo de Sancti Petri castle.
